Don't Miss Out: K-12 Education Subtraction and Credit

We wanted to share with you information that can help pay for education expenses as you prepare for the upcoming school year. The Minnesota K‑12 Education Subtraction and the K-12 Education Credit are tax benefits that many families do not know about.

Generally, most expenses paid for educational instruction or materials qualify. Please see the K-12 informational handout provided by the Minnesota Department of Revenue for an overview of what you need to know to take advantage of these benefits.

Parents under certain income limits may also qualify for the K-12 credit, which can refund up to 75% of their costs.

You can learn more by visiting or by viewing the K-12 Education Tax Credit video.
